PartnerJam now support usage-based commissions

We’ve enhanced PartnerJam to include a new commission type: usage-based commissions. This improvement allows apps in the Shopify ecosystem to set commissions based on usage charges, complementing existing options for recurring and one-time commissions.

We improved our platform to support a new type of commissions based on your app usage charges. Typically, there are three types of apps in the Shopify ecosystem – apps that charge monthly subscription, apps that charge based on the usage, and apps that are free.

PartnerJam now handles all three types of commissions:

  • Recurring commissions – The most common type where the commission is a percentage calculated out of the monthly subscription price paid by the merchant.
  • Usage-based commissions – Commission is calculated out of the usage-based charges paid by the merchant.
  • One-time commissions (PPI) – Custom commission paid for a successful install and/or specific plan. You can learn more in our CPI commissions article.

On top of that, each commission group can be combined. For example, you can offer $5 for install and 10% from the usage-based charge.
